Bathroom Suite Remodel

Man oh man, it has been a while since I’ve posted anything! Things have been crazy as it has been for everyone, considering all things 2020!! Our Bathroom Suite has been finished for a while now, and I actually had already taken pictures of it, but the door wasn’t painted yet, so I figured might as well wait until it’s completely done before making a post of it. So, before we get into all that goodness, I thought it would be fun to look at the before pictures so we can see how far we’ve come.

Here it is folks, the listing photo of our glorious bathroom!

I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the inside of that shower, because it was a doozy! We knew we wanted to change some things eventually, but once we moved in, we realized we were going to need to start a little quicker and replace more than we thought. Health is very important to us and we weren’t about to live and breathe in mold and mice feces, bleh! Thank goodness we were in the position that we could take care of it fairly quickly.

Below, you can see where the demo had started. The tile floor that was throughout the entire house had been removed, vanity, mirror, medicine cabinet, shower and tub. One of the outlet plugs was already replaced due to completely going out, which lost power to this side of the house, the first couple weeks being here – when Mike was on a business trip – as well as the 2 out of the 3 garage doors breaking…good times, haha! Honestly, all I could do was laugh at that point, maybe a little maniacally, but better than crying, I guess! And here you can see how bad the insulation was, YUCK – as well as my beautiful and detailed design plans, back when I thought the shower would be centered and smaller, and the toilet moved to the right side.

We replaced the insulation, including the attic and plugged all holes and cracks to prevent any future critters from coming in. It was always fun removing something and finding a carcass. 😳 Remodeling is not for the faint of heart nor merciful on the pocketbook, it just so happens that our love for our homes supersedes the not so fun parts. Home improvement is a hobby of ours, but it can become draining when you have so many projects going at once. It ain’t pretty, or very fun, living in construction and can definitely test you, but the aftermath is rewarding. I know it can be hard sometimes when we see all the before/after pictures or remodels and wish we could be in the same boat, and it may even get us down because we’re not. I hope my posts show the reality of it all and help you make the decision, if it’s what you really want, or maybe give you peace knowing you don’t have to deal with all this chaos, if it’s not possible at this time. Trust me, paint goes a long way, so if you can get away with just painting and adding some character in the form of some woodwork or furnishings, I would go that way 💯 every time!

Now that we’re done with the after school special, 😜 I now present to you, our new Bathroom Suite!!

And this is the view of it as you walk in to our bedroom. I know the medicine cabinet says Laundry on it, but I just haven’t come around to change it and I kind of like that it says that, even though it clearly isn’t a laundry room. I guess it’s my quirkiness shining through, maybe – just a little. 😉 That cabinet was actually my Dad’s, in his garage, and housed his spray paint cans. I always liked it growing up for some strange reason – maybe it was my love for spray paint already burning inside of me. I’m so glad I ripped it down, before selling their place after my mom passed, because it puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

And that wraps up the tour of our Bathroom Suite! Hope you enjoyed it, and if you’re wondering where something is from, you can find a link to pretty much everything we used in the bathroom here, Circle Hill Farms .

Stay tuned for a yummy recipe coming to you on Foodie Friday – I totally just made that up!
