New Living Room Rug

First of all, hello there! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here and I’m going to try to be better at updating as a challenge for myself. I started this blog, and documenting all we do on Instagram, as a way for us to keep track of projects, see progress, and just to have fun documentation of it all for the kids and us to look back on. And I figure, if I can help someone along the way with an idea, recipe, or budget find then that will just be icing on the cake. So today we’re talking RUGS!

I have been on a rug obsession kick lately. I think it might be living in a place with no carpet for the first time, that I finally get to play with all the colors and textures that rugs can bring into a space. And I love it! But it can be stressful too trying to pick what will work best in a room, especially through a computer. I’m a five senses type of girl so it’s hard not seeing it in person and touching, but I would get irritated every time I would see our living room rug. Don’t get me wrong, it was cute and all but I think part of it was it wasn’t the one I wanted to begin with, (the original kept getting ruined during shipping for some reason) and it was shag which wasn’t represented in the photo, and my screw up, it was the wrong size. Here’s a reminder of what it looked like.

See, it’s cute. I liked the pattern and I love blue, but this was getting a little too smurfy for me. I wanted something to warm the space up. So I headed to Rugs USA during their Memorial Day sale and hunted down a replacement rug for a great deal! The cool thing about Rugs USA is they have the feature to see what it will look like in your space and it actually works! I’ve used some where it places it on top of your existing furniture, like that’s going to help you visualize, haha! I also read a ton of reviews and look at customer photos to try to get the best real representation. Enough blabbing, here’s a look at the new rug…

It added the warmth I was looking for and it is so soft! Here it is in normal everyday action

We all love it, even the fur babes!

If you want the links to any of the rugs or pillows you can shop my look at, Hill Farms.
