BIG EXCITING NEWS!

Some of our closest friends and family have known that Sweet Gum was never intended to be our “forever home”, and since moving back from Texas, it just seems…like something was off.  So, we had been keeping our eye on listings popping up, knowing we would like some land and also to stay in the general area.  Every once in a while we would have one catch our eye but then we would come home and think our place isn’t too bad — we just had not found “the one”.

But then…Mike happens to find a listing that just listed that morning and both our eyes widened.  This place checked all our boxes…single story, smaller (no unneeded rooms), LAND, and a bonus…a BARN!!!  We wanted to see it right away but our sweet realtor/friend was in the hospital, so I called up the listing agent and explained to her we were working with someone already but she was ill, so would she mind showing us the property.  The next day we were walking the property and falling in love!  Turns out the listing agent is also the seller and lives right next door, so I think it was a little meant to be that she showed us and got to meet her potential neighbors…btw Julie, this does not mean I was happy you were in the hospital!

Anyways,  after some back and forth negotiating, we’ve got our “forever home” and we get the keys Friday!!  The place needs some serious updating, but we are no strangers to putting in blood, sweat, and tears into DIY projects and this time it will be a little sweeter knowing this will be the family hub for years to come!

We are so thankful for the time we’ve had at Sweet Gum. It will always hold a special place in our hearts.  There have been lots of memories shared here and it’s been a great stepping stone to getting us where we are today.

Also, if you’re in the market for a new home, Julie with Berkshire West Realty  is AMAZING!  Or, are other dear friend Elise with Reliable Realty, whom we would’ve used had we not already been working with our friend Julie.  Both ladies are sweet, caring, and just straight up good at what they do!

  1. Wow! I can’t believe that is the same place on those before pictures. It looked like a very outdated home. You really gave that home life. I can’t wait to see what you’re going to do to your dream home.
